Dr. Zucchi’s main research interests are MND, biomarkers and neuroimmunology. Thanks to her experience abroad at the Blizard Institute as a visiting student in Prof Malaspina’s lab, she learned how to perform basic biomarker research. The focus of her current research is the development of a prognostic and disease-progression biomarker to be employed for clinical research. Since her fellowship she is working in Modena as a neurology consultant, participating in the activities of the multidisciplinary clinic and as a clinical investigator in several trials. Moreover, she designed several epidemiological studies and researches on biomarkers. Together with the other MND consultants, she contributes to the monitoring and maintenance of the regional ALS registry.
