The ALS team of University Hospital of Navarra (HUN) is a multidisciplinary team formed by neurologists, nutritionists, pneumologists, rehabilitators, physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, social worker and a palliative care team.
HUN attends all ALS patients in their community (680,296 inhabitants). In addition with the assistance work they participate in training, teaching and scientific divulgation activities. Their research group, linked to the biomedical research center Navarrabiomed, belongs to the Institute of Health Research of Navarra (IdiSNA) and focuses mainly on the study of neuroinflammation in ALS and the search of biomarkers.
