Assistant Professor in Neurology

Zinovia-Maria Kefalopoulou is consultant neurologist at the University Hospital of Patras since January 2020, and an Assistant Professor in Neurology since March 2021. Her main responsibilities include being in charge of the ward of The Department of Neurology at the University Hospital of Patras, the movement disorders outpatient clinic and a collaborator in the Neuromuscular Unit multidisciplinary team, responsible for muscle biopsies.

Her research interests focus on all aspects of clinical neurology, particularly those related to movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, and advanced treatments of movement disorders, as well as neuromuscular disorders, and genetic background of neurological disorders.

She is a representative of Hellenic Neurological Society Movement Disorders Scientific Panels of European Academy of Neurology for 2021-2023.

Her teaching experience includes undergraduate course to medical students and postgraduate lessons to neurology trainees.

She is the author of 52 peer reviewed articles in international journals; invited speaker in 15 national/international meetings; principal investigator in 2 national multi-center studies and sub-investigator in 4 international multi-center studies (phase II & III).
