Nicola Ticozzi is an Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Milan, and Fellow at the Department of Neurology and Stroke Unit, Istituto Auxologico Italiano. In 2008-2009 he was a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and University of Massachusetts. He is an expert in the diagnosis and care of patients with ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases. He participated in the organization of clinical trials, and organized the clinical database and biobank of the Institute. His main research area is the genetics of neurodegenerative diseases.
Prof. Ticozzi is co-author of 76 peer-reviewed articles, and, as an expert in the genetics of ALS, he has been invited as a reviewer for several scientific journals and as a speaker at several national and international conferences (Italian Neurological Society, European Academy of Neurology, European Federation of Neurological Societies). He is member of the Clinico-Scientific Committee of AISLA – Associazione Italiana SLA, and Fellow of the European Board of Neurology. He has been the principal investigator of several research projects, and received funding by public and private non-profit organizations.
